Hajar Al-Aswad (Black Stone)

Located below the southern corner of the Holy Ka'ba, the Black Stone is the place where the circumambulation starts and finishes. It is about 1.5m above the ground of the circumambulation place. The Almighty Allah brought it down from Paradise when he forced Adam down to Earth. The Prophet (PBUH) said: "The corner and standing place are two iconic sapphires from Paradise, of which Allah dimmed their light, and had Allah not dimmed their light, they would have lit between the east and west." And he said: "The Black Stone is from Paradise. It was much whiter than ice, until it was blackened by the sins of the infidels," or as he said." At the time of typhoon, the Almighty Allah deposited it at Mount Abu Qubais, and when Abraham (PBUH) built the Ka'ba, he ordered his son Ismail (PBUH) to bring a stone to serve as a sign for people to start circumambulation. Ismail looked for a special stone, and when he returned he found out that Gabriel brought the stone to his father. Currently, only eight pieces remained from this stone, each the size of one palm date.
