Prophet's Mosque

The Mosque of the Prophet, or the Prophet's Mosque, (AlMasjid AlNabawi), one of the largest mosques in the world and the second holiest site in Islam (after the Grand Mosque in Mecca), a mosque built by our Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him in Medina after the migration of the year 622 next to his house after the construction of Quba Mosque. The mosque underwent several expansions throughout history, through the era of the Caliphs, the Umayyad, Abbasid and Ottoman states, and finally in the era of the Saudi state, where it was the largest expansion in 1994. The Prophet's Mosque is the first place in the Arabian Peninsula where lighting is used by the use of light bulbs in 1327 H 1909.
